During this class, students will learn about the role of paratroopers on D-Day. We will discuss the broader themes of WWII to establish a basis but remained focused on the role of the paratroopers. Who were the paratroopers? What did they do? Why did they jump out of airplanes? And were they successful? We will discuss all of these questions by looking at the story of one paratrooper: my grandfather who was in the 101st Airborne! I love to make this story come to life by showing students the...
