Join Mrs. A as we explore the world in fun and interactive ways! In this student-centered class, we will discuss a new country each week! We will learn about new places, foods, traditions, cultures and customs! Student interaction, conversation and discussion is what makes this class great! Class Layout: ~Community Time: Sharing time, introductions, & getting to know one another ~World map- zoom into the country & compare to where we each live ~Walk through the country (photos & videos bring it to life) ~Culture chats* ~Closing & intro to next week! ~Goodbye! *Culture Chats are a special part of this class where students develop an understanding of people groups different than their own. With the goal of finding personal connections, students develop a global understanding of similarities and differences among cultures as well as an awareness of their own culture.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify facts about a new country
Students will begin understanding the concept of continents, countries and places around the world
Students will gain social skills through positive interactions with others
