Description
Class Experience
1. Students will develop their communication and leadership skills by participating news discussions. 2. Students will deepen their global perspective by discussing international news articles.
I have been an ESL / EFL teacher since 2005. I have taught various English classes online and in five countries (South Korea, Japan,Costa Rica, Chile, and Ecuador). I enjoy teaching communicative English skills to enhance students' confidence and ability to use English in daily conversations and on social media. I have a TEFL / TESOL certificate, a BA in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles, and a MFA (nonfiction writing) from USC in Los Angeles.
Pre-class: 1. Each student will select a news article from Engoo and email the article to me (the teacher). Student should prepare questions to ask the class during discussion time. 2. Teacher will select a news article from Engoo for discussion. Students should read the article before class in order to participate in the discussion.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
NOTE: Students must lead the news discussion of the second article; if the students do not lead the news discussion, we will end the class early as the student didn't prepare the work for the second half of the lesson. *Advanced English language skills are required. If a student enrolls in the class and cannot speak English at a normal pace nor maintain a news discussion, the student will be removed from the class immediately. No refund will be given **
