** New to Outschool? Use code MelanieWia2020 to save $20! ** Welcome to your course on the Leaders of History! Royal families and leaders have overseen countries, led armies, and ruled people all over the world, but what makes them so unique? In this course, we will dive into the lives, drama, and actions of different leaders. We will look at a variety of leaders throughout history, some of whom have been loved, tolerated, and even despised by their people and the world. Each week we will focus on a different world leader in history. We will examine their childhood, upbringing, accession to power, leadership the end of their life, and legacy. Our goal is to answer the question, "Why was this leader memorable?" This is an ongoing class, and students are welcome to join the course at any point. Each class will be independent of itself meaning students will not require any prior knowledge to attend. We will focus on different empires throughout the course for four weeks at a time but again, students can join within these weeks as these leaders are not connected to one another and will be treated as a new topic each week. We will circulate back to previous empires covered in the course but focus on different leaders. Please see the course breakdown below. During our class time together, students will learn about the lives of royal leaders through a slideshow presentation using pictures, videos, and discussion questions. At the end of each class, students will get the opportunity to play a game of Kahoot to test their knowledge of that leader.
