US Grade 6 - 8
This class will explore some of the most famous and amazing landmarks throughout the world! Learners will virtually explore landmarks in North America, Latin America, Europe, Mediterranean & Middle East, Asia and Pacific Region! During these visits we will see pictures, talk about architects, landmarks and civilizations, throughout centuries. Some classes will even have recipes attached to try at home! Learners will see the map of the world so they can know where the location is in reference to where they are. Classes will be comfortable and accepting. Learners are encouraged to talk and share their thoughts, because what they have to say is important. Classes will be structured through use of slides, but relaxed so individuals are able to converse. Schedule is: Week 1 of August 28, 2023 Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and The terra-cotta army Week 2 of 2023-Pompeii and Leaning Tower of Pisa Week 3, 2023-Houses of Parliament and Stonehenge Week 4 -Empire State Building and Guggenheim Museum Week 5-Pyramids of the Sun and Machu Picchu
Learning Goals
Learners will have a clear understanding where the landmarks are located on a map. This will improve their geography skill.
Learners will use some mathematics and identifying height and distance of some landmarks.
