Welcome to this six-week course that covers the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Both of these wars were significant parts of the Cold War era. Together we will examine various historical events that impacted many countries around the world as a result of these two wars. Through historical accounts, images, stories, and facts, we will walk through history together and ask critical questions about this time period. This class is designed for students who want to have an academic learning space that is engaging and a place to ask questions. Students do not need to have prior knowledge as these classes will provide students with background information to allow them to engage, participate, and understand the history of this time. Students with more knowledge on these topics are also welcome to join this class, share what they know, and also learn some new information. Each class will be guided with a slideshow presentation to help facilitate our discussion. Students will have opportunities to answer critical questions and participate in different activities such as kahoots. Accommodations can be made for individual students based on learning needs.
