What's included

4 live meetings
3 hrs 20 mins in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. An optional activity will be given each week to supplement the lesson. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about the activity in each class. The activities will take 30 minutes or less.
Assessment
Students will complete formative assessments throughout the duration of the course. Students will be evaluated on comprehension via a summative assessment in the form of a Kahoot.

Beginner Level
In this 4 week course, students will learn about the European Renaissance. Each week students will learn about a new topic to help them stay focused and maximize their learning during the 50-minute class session. Students will be provided with assignments outside of class to help reinforce what they learned in class. We will follow the schedule below. 

Week 1: What Even is The Renaissance?

Week 4: Renaissance Review Game
- Kahoot

This course is designed to be mostly a PowerPoint presentation with some videos that are relevant to the topic. Students will review what they learned in the previous lesson, then transition to the new content, and the class will end with a comprehension check to ensure students understand the new material. All students will need to have a functional camera and microphone as class discussions are an essential component of the course. Students will be provided with a guided note worksheet in both a digital format and a pdf format to meet each student’s needs. During the final class, students will review what they have learned by completing an interactive jeopardy-like game.   

Students do not need any prior knowledge about the Renaissance to get the most out of this class!

 and their importance in the spread of Renaissance ideas.
- I can outline the advances made in literature, the arts, science, mathematics, cartography, engineering, and the understanding of

- I can describe how humanism led to a revival of classical learning
- I can describe how humanism fostered a new interest in the arts including a balance between the intellect and religious faith
- I can analyze the growth and effects of new ways of disseminating information, the ability to manufacture paper, and the translation of the Bible into common language
