🌍 Welcome to World History - Part 2: Civilizations of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East In this sixth-grade level course, students will continue their journey through world history by exploring the development of ancient and classical civilizations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. We'll begin with an overview of world geography, focusing on continents and oceans, and then examine theories of human origins and migration patterns that laid the foundation for early societies. Using a variety of engaging source materials, students will analyze, document, and reflect on the cultures, achievements, and challenges of historical societies in these regions. This course emphasizes critical thinking, cultural awareness, and historical exploration, all tailored to a middle school level. 🧭 What We’ll Cover: Geography skills and global map knowledge Theories of human origins and global migrations Major civilizations of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East Religion, trade, government, and innovation in early societies Key historical figures, cultural contributions, and lasting legacies 🎥 Course Format & Materials This class is taught asynchronously through: Recorded video lectures Supplemental content, which may include YouTube videos, guided readings, and worksheets Creative activities such as recipes, dioramas, mini-projects, and experiments 📌 Please refer to the syllabus below for a full breakdown of the weekly lessons and topics. 📅 Course Options & Access This is Part 2 of a full-year curriculum. You do not need to take Parts 1–4 in order. Parts 1–2 and 3–4 are also available as combined 20-week courses for learners who prefer a longer format. Parental Guidance
This class will cover early World History, which includes topics of war, slavery, and discrimination. All topics will be at an age appropriate level.
This class will utilize Youtube videos for sharing of lecture videos, as well as supplemental lessons. All Youtube videos are embedded into the Outschool platform.
