None, except students are expected to print out the appropriate maps and map locations for each of the countries. I will post the pdf document link to the classroom prior to each meeting. Please look for the links to the maps in the classroom. I only send links to individual students if they have enrolled after the links have been posted to the classroom.
Pencil Eraser Set of colored pencils Students will need access to a printer so they may print out the PDF maps I send them. These maps should be printed out before class so that they may be used during class. Sometimes we might use more than one map.... it all depends on the country.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
All assessments are informal. These lessons are meant to be relaxing and are really just an introduction to the countries we will study since we only have 55 minutes. I will usually end the class with a short and fun quiz-like game.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I create all my lessons on Nearpod. The learners will be given a link to the Nearpod lesson at the beginning of each class. Learners should be familiar with splitting their screen, where Zoom will be on one side of the screen and the Nearpod lesson will be on the other side of the screen. This skill is not difficult to learn. If this is an unfamiliar skill for the learner, the parent may wish to assist the learner for the first lesson or two. Instead of splitting their screens, some learners choose to use two devices, which is ideal.
