Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Ready for a fright? In this class, learners will read sections of a book before class and then come to class ready to discuss them! We will use the framework of Reading Powers by Adrienne Gear to base our discussions on. Learners will enjoy discovering a range of new books and sharing their ideas with fellow horror lovers.

All reading will need to be done outside of class.

While all books will be of the horror genre, they will remain appropriate for learners.

I am an elementary school teacher and horror lover excited to share her passion with fellow fright fans!

We will begin with the book 'Night Books' by J.A. White. We will read this over several classes. We will then continue with 'Serefina and the Black Cloak,' and 'The House with a Clock in Its Walls.' We will then continue with books collaboratively chosen by learners based on their interests.
