Are you interested in helping your learner boost their vocabulary and strengthen reading skills at the same time? Come explore this weekly ongoing class to improve your learner's vocabulary, using Wordly Wise Book 2. Each week we will meet to learn new words as outlined in the book. There are 10 words per lesson and we will focus on gaining the meaning of those words through context clues, affixes, parts of speech, etc. I love to engage learners with a variety of activities and games to make the learning process fun and help them remember the words! We also will explore reading passages to help us be word detectives as we hunt for our new words and further strengthen our understanding of the words. Please see the list of passage titles at the end of the course description. As a licensed teacher with almost 20 years of teaching experience, I try to help students make connections with the words and find helpful ways to remember their meanings. Homework will be an optional activity for families who wish their learner to complete additional work with the weekly words. I am happy to review and check any complete assessment after our weekly class. Feedback with be provided to the family via the Outschool message platform. I hope you are ready to love words as much as I do! All weeks will follow a similar routine/structure for the class and the class structure and dates are listed below.
