In this one-time class, beginning readers will practice reading by sounding out letters in CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words through fun games and songs. We will learn about the word families -og and -in, and we'll have lots of fun!
Class experience
I have been teaching 1st grade for the past 5 years, and this class is perfect for beginning readers who know their letter sounds and are beginning to learn how to read. Songs and games are fun and engaging activities to help beginning readers remember letters, sounds, and words! We'll start the lesson by reviewing letter sounds, singing the ABCs, and review what rhyming means. Then we'll talk about our word families of the day (-og and -in) and create a list together of all the words we...
