As I get the amazing opportunity to travel to Europe this spring I would love for you all to join me for the journey! We will be visiting Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Ireland on this trip and exploring everything from the volcanos and tectonic forces that shaped these places, the natural landscape and ecosystems, and a few amazing castles, palaces, arts, and architecture! In addition to all of this we will have 3 virtual lessons covering some of the classic Natural and Ancient wonders of the world! During our first week we will learn about Paricutin, a volcano in Mexico that suddenly appeared overnight! Week two will feature the Great Wall of China and week three will be The Pyramids of Giza! I am looking forward to sharing these lessons with you all and learning about the geography, geology, and history of these wonderful locations! Weekly lessons will have a full video with a worksheet included for students to follow along with. Additionally, there will be short videos posted as I journey through Europe and upload a "Where in the World" style short clip with clues to challenge students to discover what natural of man-made wonder will be featured!

over 3 WeeksLesson 1:
Volcanoes of Paricutin and Iceland!
Our lesson this week highlights the rapid 1943 eruption of Paricutin in Mexico. We will learn what forces of nature cause volcanic areas and study the volcanic fields of central Mexico. Additionally, I will be uploading videos from my trip to Iceland and share the volcanic activity that is tearing the island apart, as well as side effects from volcanos like the Geyser and Hot Springs of this island nation!
Lesson 2:
Iceland Adventures!
Trying out posting these as a seperate lesson since there has been difficulty viewing them as additional posts to the current lessons. This has our content about Iceland, from glaciers to continental rifts to volcanos!
Lesson 3:
Amsterdam
This contains a couple of interesting places we visit in and around the beautiful city of Amsterdam!
Lesson 4:
The Great Wall of China
Our feature lesson will be about the beloved Great Wall of China, its enormous history and record breaking length! We will talk about the Ming Dynasty and others that contributed to its creation. Our supplemental videos will be from my journey through the Netherlands and we may learnt the Dutch connection to China from the 1600's through the Dutch East India Company.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Sean and I love to teach fun, engaging classes generally centered around history, science, and storytelling! Many of my classes involve some type of activity, story-telling, reading, writing or some other unique assignment (such as map-making!) to help students feel more invested in the material and get excited about learning more each day.
The people I learn the most from and respect the most are those who are truly passionate and engaged with the subjects they love. This is where Outschool shines because no one is forced to teach a class they don't like or teach in a way that isn't interesting to them! I find that when teachers can effectively communicate their passion about subjects to their students everyone is uplifted and comes away having grown smarter and wiser.
With every class my goal is to help your students develop powerful habits that transcend the courses they take with me. Creative thinking, reading comprehension, creative and persuasive writing, pattern recognition and logic are just some of the talents students will develop over the duration of the courses they choose. I can't wait to start working together! See you soon!
