Hello! In this one-time class, I will be teaching how to make a pinecone birdfeeder! We will be using a pinecone, nut butter of choice, and bird seed to create a delicious snack for your neighborhood birds. We will be learning how to use our supplies and imagination to show appreciation to the beautiful Wonders of Fall. Before Class: 1. Find an appropriate place to create art. a. Place plastic, cardboard, etc. underneath your workspace for easy clean up 2. Have all Materials ready for Class After Class 1. Clean up after you are done. 2. Show someone your art!

This activity requires students to handle nuts or seeds, as well as a choice of nut butter. Therefore, learners may need to use certain alternatives if they are allergic to nuts, nut butters, or seeds. This class may not be suited to all learners due to the risk of allergies Here is a list of alternatives the learner can use: Nut Butters: Peanut butter Sunflower butter Almond Butter Cashew Butter Hazelnut Butter Seed/nuts: Sunflower seeds Regular bird seed Plain cheerios Corn Raisins Dried fruit This class also required the students to use either a butter knife or rubber spatula to apply the nut butter onto the pinecone. Parent supervision will be required if the learner chooses to use a butter knife for application.
