Let's explore 5 water sources found on earth! Each class will start with an introduction and students will have a chance (optional) to share an object/artifact, story, fact, or question about the water source of the day. Week 1 -aluminum baking pan -modeling clay -water -blue food coloring -straws Week 2 -small bowl -water -spoon -various spices (thyme, rosemary, oregano - this can be an all-in-one Italian spice blend) -pepper Week 3 -aluminum baking pan -1/2 gallon of water -shells (if you don’t have shells small plastic toys) -2-3 cups of dirt Week 4 -a piece of brick, asphalt, or large rock -a piece of sod (about 4in.) -2 cups of water -2 plastic containers (one will be for the brick and the other for the sod) -paper towels Week 5 -water -coffee filter -two glasses (cups will work, but glasses are nice for students to see inside) -ripped up pieces of paper (small) -red and yellow food coloring -1 tsp. small amount of dirt or coffee grounds (tea -1 tsp. of cooking oil (any type) -coffee filters (2-3)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
