Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the basic elements and vocabulary involved in writing stories, like character, setting, problem, solution, sentence, word choice, punctuation, and more. Students will discuss genres of writing, like non-fiction, fiction, fantasy, science fiction, and more. Students will draw illustrations that support the collaborative writing piece. Students will orally offer ideas to help create the unique writing piece during each club meeting.
I write for the local newspaper and I taught writing in a public school setting, so I enjoy helping students develop a love of creative writing!
Students should bring a something to draw on and pencils, markers, colored pencils or crayons to create their illustration during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
