Objectives: Students will hear a specific type of literature representing the scheduled genre (listed below). Students will use the writing process to compose their own story using various writing techniques which they should be familiar with (writing sentences). Students will organize and present their work both orally and visually. *Working mic and video are needed for full participation as this class also includes showing and sharing. Learners will learn about one type of story. Learners will write and illustrate their own story. Learners will read and share their work with the class.
The homework is optional as they will be asked to share their story with a family member or friend after class.
Paper: Lined or unlined Writing Material: Pen or pencil Drawing Materials: Markers, colored pencils, crayons
An informal assessment is done in class during the sharing portion of the class; however, it will be a brief verbal note related to their work.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
