In this 6-week course learners will focus on high C and high D as they expand their music reading and playing skills and learn related music theory.

Class experience

The learner will read and play treble notes high C and high D (in addition to B, A, G, low E and low D) as they demonstrate good recorder technique.

National Music Standards
	• MU:Pr4.2.4b When analyzing selected music, read and perform using iconic and/or standard notation.
	• MU:Pr6.1.4a Perform music, alone or with others,
	with expression and technical accuracy, and appropriate interpretation.
Homework Offered
Learners are encouraged to practice class material each week. The pacing of the class may be adjusted as needed. Homework assignments will be given at the end of each class. Videos and recordings will be posted to the classroom to assist learners as they practice.

Assessments Offered
Learners will be informally assessed on demonstration of basic recorder skills and basic music reading skills.

*Soprano Recorder with Baroque Fingering and/or Tin Whistle in the key of D (learners only need 1 instrument but are welcome to use both)
*Printed music and activities that will be uploaded to the classroom
