Class Experience
Children will meet online with instructor and listen to a teacher created informative, easy to understand story about the wind. We will learn that wind can be used for fun activities and it can: *generate electricity *grind grains into bread flour, cereal and cornmeal *carry seeds, allowing them to grow After the story children will create their own windsock together through step by step instruction. Children will be able to hang the windsock to be enjoyed by family and friends.
Students will learn about the wind and use fine motor skills to cut, glue and create their very own windsock.
I love being outdoors in many kinds of weather. I enjoy sharing my joy in the natural world and have worked with children from preschool to grade 8, reading, writing and general academics.
Children will need: 1. Colorful paper several sheets so child can have choice and variety 2. Crepe or tissue paper 3. Yarn, ribbon or string (to hang the wind socket) 4. Colorful paints and brushes 5. Hole punch (or adult can make hole with a sharp pencil if you do not have hole punch) 6.Glue or paste 7. Scissors 8. Toilet Paper Rolls (one for each windsock child would like to make, we will make at least one together, children may want to make several)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
