1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Though no formal homework assignments are made, artists are encouraged to practice their skills.Class Experience
Watercolor loving artists unite! Let's meet every week to paint together! Each week will be an independant lesson, so everyone is welcome to join at any time. These projects are learner led, so bring your painting ideas! In this class, artists will learn how to use basic watercolor painting materials and tools, and occassionally explore options for embellishing our paintings. We will utilize techniques, like easy warm-up activities, choosing color schemes, and planning compositions. We will paint a variety of projects: beautiful patterns and motifs, flowers and leaves, insects and critters, and still lifes like fruits and vegetables. Using what we learn each artist will create a unique, masterpiece each week and learn skills to help them paint other projects from their own imagination and inspiration. Lesson subjects are learner directed. I teach techniques to paint your interests. Each week the class chooses the subject of our next week's painting!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Arizona Teaching Certificate
Doctoral Degree from Chapman University School of Law
Hello! I can't wait to learn and share with you! I have a bachelors degree in history, a doctorate in law, and certifications in photography and therepeudic art . I love learning, and teaching others.
I am a mom to 5 amazing kids, ages 17, 15, 14, 11, and 9. I've taught art classes for over 25 years and have worked with all ages. I am excited to reach out to even more students on this Outschool. I believe with Pablo Picasso that, "Every child is an artist." And my goal as an art teacher is to make sure we all have the desire and confidence to keep being creative and enjoy a life full of learning. Because just as Picasso said, "The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
I homeschool my 3 youngest children for several years, and now all 5 are home with me. I love teaching them art and history. I love using my passion for history to teach how the events of our past have shaped our future.
When I am not teaching, our family travels. I love to travel to see the original art I study and teach about, and the geography that has inspired artists and influenced our history.
