This class is to learn about women in modern music history! Each week we will learn about a different woman, group of women, or girl band that has made some amazing strides in the world of music and art. We will also learn about some of the struggles these women faced and how they paved their own paths. We will listen to a song by that artist and discuss it, draw how it made us feel, and other fun ways to express ourselves and learn about female artists! Each week there will be slides with...

I am an assigned-female-at-birth, agender teacher who grew up as a woman in various music scenes. I also have studied these musicians in-depth, as well as hold a bachelor's in music from a prestigious university.
Paper and something to write with for drawing and/or note-taking
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
There may be discussion of various oppressions (racism, financial abuse, etc.) that female artists faced throughout their careers.
