Shirley Chisholm was AMAZING!! In this one time class, we will take a look at the life, education, and many contributions of Shirley Chisholm. What was her inspiration to get into politics? How did she handle racism and discrimination within the political world? The first 20-30 minutes of the class will consist of a powerpoint presentation that will include a detailed look at her childhood, education, travels, and contributions to politics. We will take a look at a few videos and interviews, as well as examine the legacy and impact her time in office had on society. The last 10-15 minutes of class will be an open discussion of what we have learned and answer any questions that the students may have.
