▬▬▬▬▬▬ COURSE SUMMARY ▬▬▬▬▬▬

What's a Queen without her King? Well, historically, better.

In this course, students will learn about some of the great Queens in history who shaped our world.

We will cover 10 different Queens in this course - all of whom lived dramatic lives with a fascinating story to tell. This class will focus on the most exciting parts of each Queen's life and present it like a story that dives into who they were as individuals.

No prior knowledge is needed for this course, as it is an intro course.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ Self-Paced Format ▬▬▬▬▬▬

This is a self-paced class, with NO live component. For this class, a recorded presentation (about 30-40 minutes long) will be posted once a week discussing the famous queen specified for each week. Learners are encouraged to write down their questions during the video lesson and post them on the class page.

ACTIVITIES:
- Each week, three discussion questions will be posted to the classroom for learners to respond to and discuss. There will also be pop quizzes available for learning comprehension every week.
- Week 3: an optional writing assignment will be given for learners to complete and submit.
- Week 6: another optional writing assignment will be given for learners to complete and submit.
- Week 8: another optional writing assignment will be given for learners to complete and submit.
- During the final week, there will be a short online test for learning comprehension that covers content from the entire course.

Assignments and discussion questions are created to help engage with the information they learn throughout the course in an enjoyable, creative way. If parents/learners would like a letter grade for either writing assignment/the course, I can provide that as requested.

Weekly Topics:
- Facts about the country and time period
- Background information about their childhood and family
- How did they become Queen?
- What did they do as Queen?
- The end of their reign... and for some, their life
- Interesting facts about their lives and personalities
- What was it like as woman in power during their time?
- What is their legacy? How did they change the world?

*** It's important to note that this course does not cover every influential Queen or woman in history, but serves as an introduction to some of the most famous. There is no emphasis on these Queens being better than other women/Queens not included in this class.
Learning Goals
- Be able to identify each Queen - who she was and basic facts about her reign.
- Understand the various time periods and places each Queen ruled.
- Learn about how each Queen helped influence the world.
- Discuss these famous figures and form their own opinions about each one.
