Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 7
Women are and have always been important in society. Sadly, the contributions and accomplishments of women were often not given proper credit and recognition during their lifetimes. Not much was written about women in the ancient world.

We will talk about what life was typically like for women in the ancient world. Traditionally, roles for women centered on taking care of the home and raising children. These are important duties are often overlooked and not considered important, even today.

There were also women who become famous leaders, mathematicians, and writers in the ancient world. We will also talk about some of the famous women from Ancient History, including Agrippina the Elder & Younger, Olypmias, Cleopatra, Hatshepsut, and Nefertiti.

Lastly, we will play a game of Kahoot to review what we learned in class. Make sure your child has an extra device or knows how to play Kahoot on the computer while being able to see my screen on Zoom.

Every effort was made to include women from the ancient world from different regions and from different backgrounds. If there is a famous woman from ancient history not mentioned that you want me to talk about, please feel free to contact me.
