30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Greetings Magical Students, In this book discussion, we will look to the Harry Potter series for answers. For this section we will focus on discussing tough topics. We will be using this class time to critically discuss and examine students answers between what seem like 2 impossible answers. We will open up every class with introductions and then begin our discussion. As the Professor, I will prompt students with pre planned discussion topics. These topics are thought up to make the students choose between similar, but difficult wizardly situations. The students will then give their answers as we dive into deeper discussion of the prompts given. Students will be given the opportunity to give an answer to each topic. They will also be given the opportunity to explain why they decided on that answer. Our agenda for this 30 minute class: -Introductions and explanation of the class (5 minutes) -Discussion: 8-9 Prompts and discussion time. We will spend about 3 minutes on each slide. Every student will have the chance to answer each topic discussion. (18 Minutes) -Conclusion: Each student will have the opportunity to share a HP related topic they would like to discuss with the class. (7 minutes) Talking about a topic that you are passionate about is fun and helps to build listening and public speaking skills. Students are welcome to come to class dressed in Harry Potter robes or attire. Wands and magical pets are welcome as well!
