Description

Class Experience

We will paint a gentle winter lake reflection.  Students will learn how watercolors can softly blend together.  We discuss how to create a  background and foreground.  Students will learn how to load their brushes properly to achieve just the right combination of paint and water.  They will be able to choose their own colors for the background.  I like to give just enough instruction to guide their painting while leaving room for them to express their own creativity.  We will play with the...

I have taught art classes for over 20 years and am still impressed with my students' creativity.

8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper,(printer paper rips easily)
 bowl or water,
 paper towels,
number 12 round brush that comes to a point
1/2 inch flat brush 
palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate),
Watercolor paint tubes, they are easier to mix than trays. A set is easy to find a craft stores.  We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.

I will write a brief note to the student after class.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
