Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
The theme used in this course will be winter and the activities will be STEM based. I will teach with an engaging activity that students will complete within the class time frame. My teaching style is with discussion and hands-on activities. The learners will interact with each other through discussion as they complete the activity. There is no previous knowledge that learners need to know.

Learners will make and Abominable snowman fortress on the first day of class. The second day of class the students will perform the Sticky Ice experiment, the Exploding Snowman experiment, and creating a snowstorm in a jar experiment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to complete STEM tasks that relate to a winter theme.

Hello, I am an Birth though 6th grade certified teacher in NC. I have also, been an administrator at the high school level. I have worked in education for nearly 15 years. I will teach a variety of courses around reading/comprehension, higher order thinking skills, social-emotional learning, and race, justice, and equity, along with leadership skill development. I believe every student can learn and can be successful. I believe in teaching the whole student so focus is on academics, social-emotional learning, and how to be the best version of themselves. I have a cat name Simba and a puppy named Harley Quinn. They keep me on my toes and enjoy appearing in videos every now and then to say Hi!
