I will teach how to draw a snowman at night, with moonlight casting light in the foreground and shadows in the background. We will begin with a simple snowman drawing, followed by coloring their snowman with oil pastels. Then I will teach them how to use their pastels to add shading to make shadows. Finally they will add details to personalize their snowman (hat, scarves, face, etc.). I will go through the process step-by-step to simplify it. I will also model for them while teaching. I will offer guidance to individual students to help with their artwork. It would be helpful if students have some experience and/or confidence with drawing.
Learning Goals
