Is your child an animal lover and looking for some social time during this winter season? Well grab a cup of hot cocoa, cuddle up with a warm blanket and lets talk about 5 cold weather animals! In this furry, feathered, and finned winter camp we will be reading and talking about all things animals. Each day we will learn facts about one animal and then we will read a story about the animal. I looooove animals and I love to read and share the joy of reading with my students! The key to inspiring that love of reading in children is selecting a high interest topic, like this one. :) I am a fun, patient, and warm teacher and I love supporting students on their journey as growing readers. I'm an experienced elementary school teacher, and as part of this class, I will follow up with feedback about any concerns and areas your child could grow in. This is going to be such a fun camp! I can't wait to see your animal-loving-learner in my winter camp! Topics for camp: Day 1: Arctic Fox - "The Arctic Foxes Journey" Day 2: Narwhal - "Narwhal's Otter Friend (A Narwhal and Jelly Book #4)" Day 3: Snowy Owl - "Owl Babies" Day 4: Polar Bear - "Frozen: Olaf and the Three Polar Bears" Day 5: Caribou (Reindeer) "Tiny Reindeer" Class Outline: Introductions Reading facts about an animal Read a story together Talk about the animal and reflect on learning

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics
Hello families!
My name is Jennifer Boham and I have been teaching math for 15 years. I hold a Florida Teaching License with certifications in Elementary Education and Middle School Math.
I love helping students overcome learning blocks like frustration, self-doubt, and of course boredom. My goal is to make sure your child feels supported in class and confident in their academic ability. I achieve this through patience, kindness, positive encouragement and lots of FUN.
When I was a young student, I actually struggled with math! This gives me a unique perspective and helps me reach students who are feeling frustrated. I overcame that frustration because I realized that my mindset was the only thing in the way. I realized that math could actually be fun! I never would have believed that before! Here I am, many years later, starting my 16th year of teaching math - another plot twist! I look forward to helping your learner find joy in learning math this school year and gain the confidence that will propel them forward, helping them reach their dreams.
My family and I live in Florida with our dogs Pepper and Dexter and our cat Junebug. I enjoy traveling, gardening, biking, relaxing at the beach and going to Disney!
Teaching is my passion, and I appreciate you sharing your learner with me!!
