Class experience
We will celebrate winter, snow, and cold weather! We will sing Frosty the Snowman a few times throughout the class to help with memory. We will vote on a winter story, from the list below, for the teacher to read. Then the teacher will ask comprehension questions to ensure understanding. We will take turns talking and sharing our thoughts about the story. We will also work on a simple craft making a snowman. This helps the children develop fine motor skills as well as learning to follow...
Students will work on being a good listener to their peers and the teacher, improving fine motor skills through a craft, developing language and vocabulary through a song, learn about voting, and practice listening comprehension with our story.
I have 8 years experience teaching preschool and 7 years experience doing preschool childcare for an organization. I was formerly a preschool director before having children of my own. I am a certified teacher with a Masters Degree in Education. I have experience teaching all subjects at the elementary level in both public and private schools.
For the craft each child will need a full size sheet of paper (blue works well), cotton balls, scraps of other colored paper to tear (orange, black, red, anything!), and either a glue stick or a small amount of school glue in a disposable container and a q-tip.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I always love when parents attend with their children when possible. Though only students should be speaking during the class to improve communication skills.
We will pick a story from the following options: Sam's Snowy Day by Mary Labatt The BIG Snowball by Wendy Cheyette Lewison I Love Snow! by Hans Wilhelm The Smallest Snowman by Sarah Fisch There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow! by Lucille Colandro A Silly SNowy Day by Michael Coleman
