Description

Class Experience

Join Stacey Sinclair for a winter wonderland of festive tunes. Learn to play seasonal songs on the violin or viola. 

In this class, we will focus on socializing together through music. Each session will follow a tune-teach format. We will greet one another and share some conversations about our own favorite winter traditions and music. Next, we'll start learning the song of the day. The class will focus mostly on playing by ear and listening skills. Students will also learn relevant music...

Students will improve their listening and ear-training skills. Students will learn to play three festive, winter songs on the violin or viola. Students will gain confidence in playing music for and with other people.

-Lifelong violinist and musician.
-Over 10 years performing and teaching strings.
-Licensed teacher (pre-K through 6th grade)

Additional practice is optional. Students will be able to view play-along videos and share their playing on Flipgrid if they choose. Listening and playing the songs will help students remember them.

Musicians will need a violin or viola and bow, in tune and in good working condition.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will share their learning and be assessed through friendly conversation and teacher feedback during the sessions.

2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
