Class Experience

Hey there! Welcome to Mrs. D's Art Room! It's always a great day when we get to learn something new, especially when it's about art.

I recently painted a winter landscape painting with a snowman from a photo and it brought me so much joy that I wanted to share my expertise with young and passionate artists like you. We'll be learning how to draw a red house surrounded by trees in the distance using the basics of perspective drawing. Don't worry, we'll start with easy steps to understand proportion, perspective, and some basic rules of landscape painting to get you started.

Next, we'll spend a whole hour learning acrylic painting techniques, including coloring the distant mountains with unique brush strokes, and light and shadows on the snow and the smoke from the chimney!

We'll have so much fun exploring blending, layering, fan brush techniques, and many more exciting things using acrylic paints.

I'll show you how to hold your brushes and use proper pressure while applying them. For painting, we'll mostly use round and flat watercolor brushes and fan brushes.

I'll be using a dual-screen so that you can see me drawing with you throughout the whole class. If you are familiar with using canvas, you are welcome to use it for this painting. But, don't worry if you've never painted before, no experience is needed for this class, you'll just need to follow the directions I give.

Lastly, I want to encourage you to make your artwork unique and complete your art independently if you aren't finished in class. I'll pace our class based on your abilities, so we'll go slower or faster depending on how you're doing.

I hope to see you in my class soon and embark on this art journey together!

Hello and Welcome Outschoolars! I’m Mrs.D. ! I appreciate you considering me to be a part of your young artist's art journey!

I teach various art classes that involve color theories, color wheels, and color schemes that work together to create human figures, landscaping, and canvas painting with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. I love to teach different styles and techniques of art using Art Theory.

I am an artist by profession. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. I have participated in many art exhibitions in my public art center and library and taught art, crafts, and card making in elementary schools and Girl Scouts as a volunteer. I love to share art with my community.

I have been teaching 1:1 art classes online and in person for the last 5 years to ages 4 to 14 years. I have instructed children online all around the world, and continue to teach local classes and workshops in my community. I am so happy to continue what I am doing on a bigger and better platform from the comfort of my home.

I like to teach Art Theory in most of my projects so kids will learn multiple things without even realizing it. I believe all students can learn, and art is the best way to express yourself and your feelings in your unique way.

Art helps to improve hand and eye coordination. It also helps to grow your concentration and patience. Sometimes young minds can't express themselves through talking, but through drawing. I love connecting with students through art and helping them grow, laugh, and have some fun!

Class Expectation: Everyone works at different speeds. If the child is not finished with the piece by the end of class, they can finish the remaining picture at home and post it in the classroom.

Join me on this incredible adventure to take your child’s passion to the next level.

Thank you for visiting my profile! I’m looking forward to being a part of your child's art journey, growth, and success; can’t wait to see you in class!
