Students will learn about Winter Holidays in this fun and engaging class with activities to get students excited to learn more about different cultures around the world. Through reading, answering text dependent questions, short videos/films, note taking, and writing, students will become knowledgeable about winter holidays celebrated in Australia, Brazil, Japan, or Mexico.
Learning Goals
Learn through music/songs, videos, teacher read stories, individual readings, and activities relative to the lesson.

Supply List
Students will need: 1- pencils with erasers 2- paper 3- crayons, colored pencils, or markers Activity pages and materials will be available for you to print before class.

Hello! ¡Hola! Bonjour! Olá! Ciao! How nice to make your acquaintance! I am currently working towards a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, with a concentration in Spanish and a Master of Education in Bilingual Special Education/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Since 2000 I've taught K-12 Spanish, K-12 English as a Second Language, K-12 Bilingual Special Education, served as a Learning Specialist for independent schools and worked independently as a homeschool educational consultant. In my spare time, I also teach comparative romance languages to youth groups and faith-based organizations.
My hobbies include studying world languages, traveling, collecting foreign currency and authentic masks. My character strengths are love of learning and honesty and I cherish spending time with my family.
I believe that families can reinforce what students learn inside the classroom, whether face to face or online, which can contribute to student success as a learner and 21st century leader.
