In this 3 day camp learners will learn and review several phonics skills while enjoying some holiday magic. The phonics skills included are short and long vowels, vowel teams, digraphs, sight words, and more.

Class Experience

-identify vowels and their sounds
-learn rules for when a vowel is short or long
-identify and label short and long vowels within words
-identify vowel teams and their sounds
-identify and read new sight words
-identify vowel and consonant digraphs and their sounds
-apply sounds to spell new words
-apply wounds to read a short story
I have been an elementary teacher for over 20 years.  In that time, I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade reading.  I have taught phonics skills to hundreds of students over the years.  Teaching reading and phonics is a passion I have and I will use activities and strategies in this class that have proven to be effective in helping students improve their reading ability over the years.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
