Winter Holiday Phonics and Grammar Camp
In the multi-day holiday themed class, learners will practice phonics and grammar skills. Learners will work on short and long vowels, vowel teams, r controlled vowels, consonant digraphs, blends, common and proper nouns, and verbs.

Description
Class Experience
-Learners will learn, recognize, and apply the short and long vowel rules when reading and spelling. -Learners will learn, recognize, and apply the vowel team rules for reading and spelling. -Learners will learn and apply the sounds of digraphs ch/sh. -Learners will recognize and apply the sounds for bossy r vowels. -Learners will learn, recognize, and apply beginning blends when reading and spelling words. -Learners will recognize nouns and sort them as proper or common. -Learners will recognize verbs and differentiate between verbs and nouns.
I have been an elementary teacher for over 20 years. In that time, I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade reading. I have taught phonics skills to hundreds of students over the years. Teaching reading and phonics is a passion I have and I will use activities and strategies in this class that have proven to be effective in helping students improve their reading ability over the years.
