This class is a fun way to practice tens and ones and other place value concepts while having fun celebrating the winter holidays. Students will practice the concept of place value by recognizing, building, and expanding numbers in a fun, interactive way. This class will use videos, slides, hands on learning, and interactive activities to practice this important math skill. Day #1: -learn about tens and ones in a number -build numbers using tens and ones -expand numbers -use place value knowledge to complete a holiday mystery picture Day #2: -practice number patterns on a 120 chart (5's, 10's, odd, even, etc.) -play a game to identify numbers based on their place value -write, draw, and expand numbers

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a public school elementary teacher for over 20 years. During that time, I have taught math for about 13 of those years. Teaching math has always been a fun subject for me to teach. I have discovered many ways to help students grasp important math concepts while having fun learning them. I will use many of those concepts to make learning math fun!
