50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, we will spend some time talking about this mysterious creature and whether or not we believe yeti's are real. We will do a step by step drawing of a yeti eating a bowl of Spaghetti. This class will be hands on with some discussion. Class will be very directive, breaking each part of the drawing down to the basic shapes, but I always encourage students to decide what looks good or to change any part of the drawing, so they are as creative as possible. We will touch on geography and spelling and enjoy some spirited conversation. No prior knowledge needed!
Learning Goals
Students will learn to use basic shapes to draw a more complex scene. Students will learn more about geography. Students will learn to spell both yeti and spaghetti.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Jennifer Schultz and I have twenty years of teaching experience. I have taught art in summer camps, after school programs, art centers and brick and mortar schools.
I have had the opportunity to work with students ages 4 through 14. My teaching philosophy is to meet the student where they are and to provide challenges through technique and critical thinking questions, so they can increase their understanding. I think art provides a great, hands on experience to other subjects (math, science, language arts, and social studies). I will be offering lots of how to draw classes, art technique, and art history (artists and movements).
I also love American music (jazz, blues, early rock) and would like to offer music appreciation classes on those topics.
I raised 3 puppies for Canine Companions for Independence and its was a blast!
I hope to see you soon in my class.
