In this camp just for tweens, learners will explore different materials (yarn, buttons, paint, paper and felt) and learn techniques to create unique art to keep or share.
Class experience
In this craft camp just for tweens, you'll learn different techniques using a variety of materials to create one-of-a-kind works of art to keep or share. Once you try these projects out, you can easily scale them to be larger or smaller. Day 1: Yarn & String Learn how to make different sized pompoms and the things you can make with them. We'll also make some tassels with string. Day 2: Felt Learn how to make flowers out of felt and combine colors, shapes and styles to create a felt flower...
Learners will explore a variety of materials and techniques that will spark creativity while making new friends.
Jenine is an artist in many mediums and has taught kids, teens and adults how to get crafty for more than 25 years.
yarn in your choice of colors (2 or more skeins) embroidery floss in your choice of colors (2 or more skeins) flat buttons in your choice of style and colors cardstock or premade blank cards scrapbooking paper, origami paper, maps, magazines, paint chip samples (from hardware store - free) glue stick glue-all, tacky glue or super glue sharp scissors Sharpie black fine point pen ruler foam brushes or paint brushes safety pin or pin back for broach toilet paper or paper towel tubes (2 or more) bubble wrap pieces, plastic lids of different sizes, cardboard box from recycling artist canvas in your choice of size (available for a few dollars at Target) painter's tape (masking tape that is blue: low-tack) acrylic craft paint in your choice of colors Optional: sewing or embroidery needle, beads, notions
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be required while learners look for materials to use and set up their craft space for painting (Day 5).
