Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Welcome to our one time pen and ink drawing class for winter, where we will learn how to draw and create an adorable penguin using various drawing and shading techniques. 

This is a course that is perfect for beginning artists and specializes using step by step drawing techniques to help us create realistic shadow, space and depth. These step by step demonstrations are meant to help blossoming artists perfect their skills. All artists are welcome to participate in this class, no matter their skill level.  I will personally guide you each step of the way and will be eagerly waiting to answer your questions.  

The first half of class will begin with an ice breaker, we will then watch an educational YouTube video about the penguin and play an interactive trivia game to assess what we have learned. After game time, we will then draw and shade the penguin under the guidance of a certified art educator. 

Each student should leave this class with a stronger sense of confidence when using watercolor.  A variety of all different types of learners are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to draw a penguin for winter using basic shapes and simple lines
Students will learn how to draw a penguin using a side diagonal and cross hatch shading technique 
Students will learn fun scientific facts about the penguin and be able to expand their knowledge by the end of class

Other Details

Learning Needs
Those with anxiety have the option to turn off their cameras after attendance has been taken and use the chat box/reactions to participate. All directions are given in step by step format & the pace of the class is determined by the learner
Parental Guidance
We will be using YouTube via screen share to help expand our students knowledge of the penguin. There will be no need to set up any accounts in order to participate in this course.
Pre-Requisites
Being comfortable with drawing basic shapes is essential for this class.
