Class Experience

In this one-time drawing course, students will learn the basics of drawing a bunny portrait (full body) using pencil. To start class, I teach students techniques for drawing a proportionate contour drawing (outline). After completing the contour drawing, I teach students various shading techniques as we begin to add detail and bring our art to life! We practice shading and adding contrast a lot in this class, so students will learn many shading techniques (e.g., how to shade smoothly, gradient blending, adding fur detailing/texture, etc.). I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion between teacher and students is encouraged. I ask students questions throughout the lesson to check for student understanding. Students may also interact with each other if they want to share what they have learned during class. Students who enroll in this class should have basic drawing skills, like drawing and manipulating shapes with a pencil. Students do not need previous knowledge of how to draw animals, but should have a passion for drawing.

If you do not see a scheduled time that works for you, please message me. I am happy to try and accommodate your schedule with mine.
