Class Experience

Join us for Rabbit's Relations Family Union! When Rabbit's family gets together, he invites everyone... so bring your favorite stuffed animals for a wonderful party. The stuffed animals (and their children) will first introduce themselves. Then everyone will listen to parts of the original Pooh stories and selections of poetry from When We Were Very Young (also by A.A. Milne). During those readings, we will talk about Milne's use of language and basic poetic devices, such as cadence and rhyme.

After the discussion, we will play a memory match game with the Pooh pictures.

Please join this special reunion in the Hundred Acre Woods. The more, the merrier!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I love public health and have a PhD in health policy and an MPH in international health. After working as a researcher, though, I had my daughter and switched gears.

Together my ten-year old and I spend our time homeschooling, crafting and playing. Over the years, Montessori, Charlotte Mason, and Waldorf educational philosophies have captured my imagination. I love their emphasis on beauty and play in education, and I love to share these ideas with others.

I currently teach a small co-op group in Southern MO, where my students learn about everything from Russia to botany. I also teach needle-felting classes to adults when time allows. In the past, I have helped refugees learn English, college students learn about public health and research, and kids learn how to make all sorts of crafts.

I love to learn, and I love to teach. I am excited to share these passions here on Outschool. I teach classes focused on expanding the imagination of the child, crafting, and maybe eventually public health ;-)
