Description

Class Experience

Students will:
*learn a variety of American Sign Language vocabulary words
*follow along with a story
*combine listening with signing

This style of read aloud is great for auditory learns who want to listen to the story, visual learners who can read along on screen, and kinesthetic learners who will enjoy participating with the signs.
ASL has been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. Please note, I am not a sign language teacher or interpreter, nor am I Deaf, but I have completed two semesters of sign language courses, as well as ongoing self-study. As a public school teacher, I taught an ASL mini-course to middle school aged students, focusing on fingerspelling and vocabulary practice.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
-The age range for this class is just a suggestion. Feel free to sign-up if your learner falls outside of these guidelines.
Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, which means it is free to use on this platform. The Disney version of these characters is still protected by copyright laws. We will only be using the original material.
