In this roaring great camp, students between the ages of 10 to 14 will spread their (dragon) wings and learn many ways that math can be used to draw wonderful, fun and fierce dragons!

Let's learn how to draw better and better dragons using math! In this fun camp, students will discover and create unique flair, *and* add details to the lore of our own dragon creations! Class One: Math tricks to draw scale and horn details, the geometry of dragons, flair and the design of a Dragon Journal Class Two: Using mathematical fractals, spirals and tessellations to add unique details to your dragons Class Three: A close look at feet, claws, eyes and wings -- the essential details...
Students should bring unlined paper, pencil and eraser for drawing and any type of coloring art supplies they would like to use (pencils, crayons, ink, markers), as well as a ruler that measures in inches and centimeters. The slideshow of the lecture will be provided to all students after the class so that they can continue to review how to use math to draw some interesting artwork.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
5 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class requires the continuous use of fine motor skills which are generally not sufficiently developed until students are AT LEAST TEN years of age. This class is specifically designed for students from age 10 to 14. Therefore, the minimum required age to register is 10 yrs and the maximum age is 14 yrs. **Please do not contact the teacher and ask to register students outside this age range** Thank you for respecting the age range of the class.
