Students will be assigned a section of the book to read each week. As a group, we will discuss the events of the assigned reading in a respectful manner giving all of the students the chance to respond if they so wish to during class. The students will enjoy learning literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. We will listen to audible, read and answer higher order thinking questions. Week 1: Introductions, Chapters 1-4 Literary Elements: vocabulary, prediction, quotes, character analysis,...
Students will improve their listening skills, character analysis skills, and have the opportunity to review many literacy skills through higher order thinking questions asked through the classes.

Violence, death, sadness These books cover violent parts, includes death, and some parts are sad. I have been an elementary teacher for many years, and when these topics arise, we maturely discuss them, and continue on reading. If your child is sensitive to violence or death, this may not be a great book series for them.
