𝗔 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗳𝘂𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘀!

Each week the class will work together to create a brand new dragon tribe. I'll write down the details and guide the discussion as we combine our storytelling skills with our knowledge of the natural world, creating a dragon that feels both realistic and fantastical-- just like the tribes in the Wings of Fire series!

Each week, we'll start with an inspiration animal-- like sharks, leopards, or even pangolins! Using that animal as our inspiration, we'll decide what our dragon tribe eats, which will help us break down how it hunts, where it sleeps, and of course, what it looks like. We'll then decide if our dragon tribe has any special skills or abilities, and if we've got time, think on the tribe's history and culture.

This is a fun, social class that encourages teamwork and discussion while also increasing our knowledge of storytelling, biology, and writing. There is not officially an art component of this class, but students are encouraged and welcome to draw along as we create the tribe!

Parental Guidance
Below are my general classroom rules and policies. These will also be explained to students when we begin class! -For everyone's safety, and to ensure an engaging and social experience, students are required to have working microphones and video for the entirety of this class, positioned such that we can both hear and see them. -Students are asked not to use filters or virtual backgrounds-- though if there is an important reason to use a virtual background, please just let me know ahead of time that your student will be using one (no questions asked!). -Students will be asked to introduce themselves by sharing their name, pronoun, and a favorite book. -The Zoom text chat is set to "host only", meaning students can chat with me, but not to one another or the entire classroom.
