This is a step by step Dragon Sculpting Course, with 5 different dragon characters from the Wings of Fire book series. There are 3 different courses, with different dragon characters.

In this Self Paced course, you will work at your own pace while sculpting your Dragons. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way.

The Dragons we will create in this series are:
Winter from "Winter Turning"
Turtle from "Talons of Power"
Moonwatcher from "Moon Rising"
Kinkajou from "The Rainforest Monster"
Peril from "Escaping Peril"

Each lesson will have audio and video, along with step by step guides that are broken down into small segments. Students may add as much or as little detail as they are comfortable with.

There are no Live meetings.

This class uses Nearpod.

The supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the projects as shown. Students may personalize their dragons any way they see fit! Adding personal style and additions that fit the characters. I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look.

*Students should have some experience with Polymer Clay Sculpting and are encouraged to take a basic clay art sculpting class prior to starting this class. I offer a Self Paced Beginner Dragon sculpting course that goes over basic formations of the parts of the dragon, such as wings, attachment, etc. for sleeping and standing dragons. I will be showing a bit more detail for those interested in going a step further.

**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F/135 °C, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary.

Suggested Supplies:
Polymer Bake Clay in a variety of colors. These Dragons are mostly Light Blue, White, Dark Green, Light Green, White, Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Magenta or Dark Pink.

Basic sculpting tools, rolling pin, a sharp cutting tool

Some wooden toothpicks or jewelry/sculpting wire

Aluminum foil

Optional: Glass beads/eyes (I use mainly 4mm and 6mm)

Optional: Acrylic paint pens work great for details (after baking)

If you know the characters, it's best to use the colors that you interpret the descriptions from the books. Not all the dragons are shown in the graphic novels yet. Many of these colors are used for multiple dragons.
