What's included

5 live meetings
6 hrs 15 mins in-class hours
Homework
2-4 hours per week. Each day I will post an activity that they will complete the next day in class. It will be helpful to have these printed ahead of class. Their final project will be a collaboration with 2 other students that is about their own dragon stories. This will be completed partially in class through breakout sessions, but will likely have some work to do between classes as well.
Assessment
Through discussion prompts and Kahoot Comprehension quizzes. I will review their final project and monitor their collaboration level throughout the week.

Class Experience

During the school year we meet once a week fro 5 weeks. This will be a 1 Week camp 5x a week experience into the world of Wings of Fire for Arc 1. This includes the books 1-5. Each day will focus on 1 book and 1 activity that will be completed in class or between classes depending on the length of time required. (Note: I am not an expert artist at all and will not be teaching the drawing methods, but rather the enjoyment of it) Each day we will be doing a kahoot, so a second device or tab will be best so they can still see the screenshare in large format.

Learning Goals
Students will get the chance to discuss a book series they are passionate about while collaborating with others and improving their creativity and writing skills. I am not expecting or teaching advanced grammar, I want them to show their passion and interest through words and create a compelling story.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
There is some violence in the series that will come up in discussions.
Supply List
You will need to have read books 1-5. If you can read a book per day then you will be fine, but I would normally suggest taking my other classes on the individual books first if this is your first time reading the series.
