Description

Class Experience

This is a flex class, focused on book 1 and 2 of the Wilson Reading System. This program is designed for students in grades 2-12 and adults who have a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia, or who have not internalized the sound-symbol system for reading and spelling. 
The Wilson Reading System aligns with guidelines from the International Dyslexia Association, which recommends that students with dyslexia receive:

Student will be able to read and spell closed syllable words.

I am a Special Education Teacher with 8 years experience and a focus in reading instrcution. I am trained in the Wilson program and methods.

Student will have to complete assignments and dictation work at home.

printer, pencil, all other supplies provided

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I will provide post step assessments to check for understanding.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

Parents may be needed in order to support student learning in this class. Parents can use the tools to give reading support to students.
