Description

Class Experience

This is a five week project-based club where kids read at home then reconvien in class to discuss literary elements of the children's novel and choose between two projects that are completed in breakout rooms of small groups/partners. 

Week 1: About the author
Research books by Katherine Applegate and see if you can find a theme. 
Watch a video of the author introducing the book.
Read and discuss Screecher in ch 2 and description the author uses.

Read 10 chapters per week. Chapters are not long.

Printouts will be provided in the classroom prior to classes 
Kids often brainstorm materials in class to complete thier projects and have time to gather materials.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.

Parental discression when kids are using scissors or any other pointy itmes used in class to complete projects.
