US Grade 3 - 5
Do you love animals? This class is for you then because, each week, we will meet to share stories/news articles about wildlife. We start class with a fun question, check in, and share. Then, we learn about the animal of the week (chosen by the learners on some occasions) and then each learner will have an opportunity to share the article they found. I will choose an animal article/video to share myself. Articles are shared by my screen and students have the option to read the article to everyone or have me read aloud. If there is time, we end class with a fun wildlife related quiz, game, or activity. Before class, learners will use a safe website (link provided below in the sources tab and in the classroom) to search for an article. Choose one article and read it before class. I provide an optional Animal News Weekly organizer page students can use before class while reading the article. This organizer helps students organize what they want to share about their article during class. These weekly classes for this class do not build upon previous weeks and learners are able to enroll and leave at any date. Class topics will be dictated weekly due to the "learner-directed" articles chosen. Topics are dictated weekly due to the "learner-directed" articles chosen but my tentative article topics are listed below. #superstar Tentative Schedule Tue, Apr 18 Tue, Apr 25 Tue, May 2 Tue, May 9 Your questions about the class, safe-article websites, or anything else can be sent to me by clicking "Message Me" below. Thank you!
